April is by tradition a transitional month where we say farewell to spring and welcome in the beginning of summer. For most gardeners this period is very important as it marks a time of final preparations before the hot humid weather, traditional in the southern U.S, strikes. A common mistake of some gardeners is to underestimate just how quickly the hot weather can destroy a garden lawn by depleting the local water source. During August, there will be the annual water restrictions enforced, especially for watering lawns. So what actions can we take to prepare our garden lawns before the summer heat comes and with it a whole host of pests and weeds?
